Sunday 29 Jul 2018 – Frisco
Getting settled-in. Hung out. Walked into town dodging
showers. Dinner at home. Frisco is pretty much as we left it last year. Our
little VRBO (new for us this year) is right on the Ten Mile Creek – the deck
overlooks the creek 15 ft away. The two bedrooms are compact, but adequate. Master
has en suite, the second across from the kitchen.

Road to Breckenridge for coffee. There have been many bike
path improvements since last year. It was very windy on the way back, but the
downhill made it OK. Lake Dillon looks at least 3 ft lower than normal. Went to
see “Mission Impossible – Fallout.” It was as expected and a nice job by Tom
Cruise.

Road to Keystone. Coffee and bun back in Frisco at The
Butter Horn – yum!
Wednesday 1 Aug 2018
We road around Lake Dillon and over Swan Mountain. It was
shorter than we normally ride, but more climbing so it was a nice workout – 22 miles.
Had dinner at our favorite happy hour type place in Frisco –
Greco Pastaria.

I road up to Vail Pass through Copper Mountain. It looked like
there was more beaver activity along the Ten Mile Creek than before. A herd of
mountain goats crossed the path between Frisco and Copper Mountain. I missed
the bulk of the crazy Vail Pass downhill cruisers. The ones I did encounter
were very safety conscious.
Lauve did a walk through town and started the meal prep for
the visit of John and Jeaninne, our Durango friends.
