Vatican Day
Today we took an early guided tour of the Vatican Museum and
Sistine Chapel (City Wonders). Following the tour, we visited St. Peter’s Basilica. Both the museum
collection and the basilica were grand and opulent beyond words. The wealth of
the Catholic church over the centuries could be seen in graphic detail – the chapel
ceiling, the Pieta in the Basilica and the enormity of the Vatican grounds and
buildings. I don’t think I have been in a bigger church!
